The mission of the Board of Stewards is to work with the ministerial staff to extend the church’s pastoral ministries. Such areas of ministry include, but are not limited to, administering the ordinances, visitation, and correspondence with those who are in health care facilities, bereaved, undergoing extreme stress, or confined to their homes.

Central to the ministry of the Board of Stewards is assistance it provides the ministerial staff in the administration of the church ordinances. The Church of God observes the ordinances of Holy Communion, Baptism, and Foot-washing.

- Holy Communion is served on the 1st Sunday of each month except during the Advent Season. The Board of Stewards also routinely serves Holy Communion to the homebound.
- Baptismal Services are conducted as often as is necessary, but usually four times a year (i.e., on the fifth Sunday). While the Church of God does not practice infant baptism, we do conduct, as apart of our general Sunday morning worship, services for the dedication of infants whenever it is requested.
- The Ordinance of Foot-Washing is observed annually as a part of Maundy Thursday Service conducted during Holy Week.

| The Metropolitan Church of God, through its ministerial staff and Board Stewards, is committed to a ministry of encouragement through the visitation of its members who are in health care facilities and those confined to their homes. When the ministerial staff is made aware of the need, this ministry is also extended to relatives and friends of member families. |
