The worship teams are a great way to get introduced to the Worship/Arts ministry at Metropolitan.

The Sanctuary Choir is the main worship team and it leads worship at least two times a month. This choir requires no audition and is open to anyone ages 13 and up. Rehearsal time is Wednesday 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.

The Men’s Chorus is open to all men, young and the not-so-young alike. This group is an extension of the Men’s Brotherhood Ministry at Metropolitan C.O.G. They exist to glorify God through leading worship and singing. The Men’s Chorus usually sings on the third Sunday every other month. Rehearsal times are on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. prior to the third Sunday.

The Women’s Chorus, like the men, is open to women of all ages. Being an extension of the Women of the Church of God (W.C.G.), the Women’s Chorus sings periodically throughout the year and is highlighted by the annual Women’s Day Celebration held each October. The women’s rehearsal time is on Wednesdays at       7:00 p.m.

The Celestial Chorus is made up of those who are 50 years of age and up. This chorus usually leads worship every other third Sunday opposite the Men’s Chorus. They sing songs that are reflective of our church’s heritage, as well as other hymns and worship choruses. The Celestial Chorus rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

The Children’s Choir is an extension of the Children’s Ministry of Metropolitan. Any child age 5 to 10 can participate in the Children’s Choir. Rehearsals are on the first Sunday during children’s church and on the third Sunday during morning service. They minister to the congregation on the third Sunday immediately following their rehearsal. The Children’s Choir is under the direction of Eunice Wade and the co-direction of Michelle Stephens, Diane Moody, and Therie Hill.

The Young Adult Choir is under the direction of Precious Earley and Michelle Stephens. This choir is made up of those members of the Young Adult Ministry. The YAM Choir ministers periodically throughout the year. Rehearsal times are at the discretion of the directors.

The Praise Team is primarily made up of those singers that are hand picked by the worship/arts pastor. These individuals are required to be more proficient in sight reading and ear training. They are also required to learn music that is more difficult and challenging. The Praise Team sings every second Sunday of the month.

The Praise Band ministry is made up of those people who have a passion for playing an instrument and for assisting in leading worship. One must have a high level of proficiency in playing an instrument to be in the Praise Band. Weekly rehearsals are from Wednesdays 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. before choir rehearsals.

The Metro Orchestra is fairly new at Metropolitan. This team plays a few times a year, usually during the Easter and Christmas season. To be a part of the orchestra, one must have a certain level of proficiency at playing their instrument. Rehearsal times are determined by the orchestra director, Yancy Gideon.
